What Do I Think?

Pitaten (or Pita Ten, Pita-Ten) is definitely different than
Di Gi Charat. The characters are well-rounded and there's actually more to the plot than slap-stick comedy and crude, non-sensical jokes. (But then again, each PT episode is about twenty minutes or so long compared to DGC's three minutes ones...) Even though the main characters, Misha and Kotarou, are at odds with each other in terms of personality and age, I find that the way they interacted with each other is rather cute. I'm not saying that I accept his poor treatment of her. In fact, the reason why I adore this anime is because we (as viewers) get to see their relationship deepen as the show progresses. There isn't really much of a romance between the two, but I guess it's understandable considering they're just children (well, Misha--who strongly reminds me of Rabi-En-Rose--isn't really; she's well-endowed in the upper area if you know what I mean ^^;)
To tell you the truth, I like Pita-Ten (the anime form, that is) better than Di Gi Charat. The plot is more interesting and, ahh, there aren't any finger-people, blood, and f*rting in it. And don't forget the themes:

Friendship - Of course, who can forget the bond between the major characters? For example, Kotarou, Koboshi, and Ten-chan have been friends since they were toddlers. And even though they all have different personalities, they're still pretty close knit as they support each other in times of trouble.
Loyalty - Ahh, Misha and Koboshi are definitely loyal to Kotarou. They would go to great lengths to show how much they appreciate and care about him. Koboshi would even go as far as cheering for him instead of being neutral when he and Ten-chan are pitted against each other.

Rivalry - Obviously, as far as Koboshi is concerned, she considers the ever genki angel as a rival for Kotarou's affections. Not only that, there are other examples of rivalry apparent in this series. For instance, the rivalry between Ten-chan and Hiroshi, between Shia and Kaoru, between Sasha and Nyaa, and so on...
Romance - Not a full blown one, just a blossoming of (dare I say it?) love. As I've said the characters are way too young to experience such strong emotions. But still, the way they show their feelings is rather cute.

Good vs Evil - Duh. Of course this would be a theme considering Misha is an angel and Shia is a devil! (Come on, who didn't see that coming?) Anyway, what's nice about how the series portrayed this age-old theme is that Shia isn't a typical demon; you know, sinister and cruel. She's actually very sweet. Misha, on the other hand, may be an angel but she's caused Kotarou enough grief. But it isn't because she's a rogue angel or something. She just doesn't know that her trying to help is actually causing more harm.
