Misato Suguru is a high school boy who lives alone in a big and lonely house. His parents died a long time ago. He hires a maid, a retired battle android, to do the chores. However, he gets more than he bargains for.

Andou Mahoro is the lead female in this show. She's an android who gets the chance to experience living her remaining days outside a battlefield. She has a troubled past and seeks a way to make up for her supposed bad judgment. Oh yeah, she's also very self-conscious about her rather, uh, flat chest.

Sakura Miyuki comes from a fairly large and loving family. Her family owns the Sakura Yu, a public bath house. Anyway, she and Suguru have been friends for a very long time and thus considers him as her brother. She once confessed to Suguru that her Dad thinks of him as a son (since he has four daughters). According to Chizuko, since Miyuki is the oldest daughter, she's probably going to inherit their family business.

Todoroki Rin goes to school and is good friends with Suguru and the others. She is fashionable; she thinks it's better to wear a one-piece swimsuit because it looks more grown-up. Her dream is to be a bride.

Oe Chizuko is the blonde and ever genki girl who provides comic relief in the series. She absolutely loves the delicious meals that Mahoro provides and displays her appreciation by overeacting. She says things that are considered outrageous and rude without thinking. She doesn't want to be a chef when she grows up; rather, she wants to be the person who eats.

Shikijoh Saori is the teacher who has an unhealthy obsession with one of her students. She's quite ecchi; she dresses rather provocatively to attract his attention. She considers Mahoro as her rival and would do anything to make sure Suguru and Mahoro don't do anything naughty.

Tou Ryuuga is a mysterious man who starts teaching at Suguru's school. He believes he has a score to settle with Mahoro and will stop at nothing to beat her.

Although (black-haired) Kawahara Kiyomi and (brown-haired) Toshiyo Hamaguchi like to tease Suguru a lot, the three of them are really close friends. Anyway, they both have a major crush on Mahoro and sometimes envy Suguru's luck when it comes to attracting gorgeous women. In the second season, Hamaguchi tries to romance the clumsy Minawa.
